How to Point a Domain to Bluehost?

 2 min

If you have a domain registered on MilesWeb and want to host your website on Bluehost, point a domain to it. It can be done in the following steps.

Steps to Point Your Domain to Bluehost:

Copy Bluehost Nameservers: You’ll need the following nameservers:

  • ns1.bluehost.com
  • ns2.bluehost.com

Update the Domain’s DNS Settings: Log in to the domain registrar’s account (where you purchased the domain) and navigate to the DNS or nameserver settings. Paste the two nameservers listed above into the appropriate fields.

Allow DNS Propagation Time: once the nameservers are updated, it can take up to 24 hours for the changes to propagate. During this time, your website may not be accessible and this is normal. Just be patient, your website will come online after propagation is completed.

Wrapping Up

Pointing your domain to Bluehost is an easy but important step to get your website up and running. By pointing your domain to Bluehost’s servers via DNS, you are informing the internet where to find your website. After waiting for the DNS propagation, you’re ready to launch.
