Managing DNS records on Locaweb Brazil becomes very important if your domain is registered there but you are utilizing hosting or email services from MilesWeb. This article provides the easy steps to make changes in Locaweb’s panel of DNS records, such as A, MX, TXT, CNAME, and NS so that your domain can be directed to the servers of MilesWeb.
Step 1: Log In to the Locaweb Panel
- Go to https://painel.locaweb.com.br and sign in using your Locaweb credentials.
- Access “Hospedagem de Sites” (Website Hosting) or enter the DNS management area for your domain directly.
Step 2: Access the DNS Zone
- Tap on the domain name you wish to set up.
- Find the option “Zone Editor” or “Gerenciar Zona de DNS.”
Step 3: Add or Edit DNS Records
Depending on the service you are configuring with MilesWeb, add or change the following DNS entries through the provided interface:
1. A Record
This can be your domain or subdomain that is an access point to a server IP.
Value: Provide the IP of the server from the hosting account that you have with MilesWeb (you may retrieve this information from your control panel or a welcome email).
Example:
- @ → 103.205.64.32
- www → 103.205.64.32
2. CNAME Record
- This is the case of subdomains that are indirect to another domain.
- Example: www → yourdomain.com.
3. MX Records (for email routing)
Delete any MX records of Locaweb that are still in place.
Replace them with the ones recommended by MilesWeb:
- mx1.milesweb.com (Priority: 10)
- mx2.milesweb.com (Priority: 20)
4. TXT Records
These records are generally intended for domain verification, SPF, or email authentication.
Sample (SPF):
- v=spf1 include:milesweb.com ~all
5. NS Records
In case you have decided to use nameservers of MilesWeb rather than Locaweb’s DNS hosting:
- ns1.milesweb.com
- ns2.milesweb.in
- ns3.milesweb.in
