What is WPvivid Backup & Restore?

Step 1: Install and Activate the WPvivid Plugin
- Start at your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
- Go to the Plugins area, then click on Add New.
- In the new window’s search bar, type WPvivid Backup Plugin.
- Once it appears, click Install Now and then Activate as soon as the installation is complete.
Be sure to install the plugin from the WordPress repository to avoid poor-quality plugins.
Step 2: Create Your First Backup
Once you have everything activated, navigate to WPvivid Backup → Backup & Restore from the menu in your WordPress dashboard.
For your backup, under Backup Options, you will have to decide on the contents. You can choose one of the following:
- Database + Files (Full Backup)
- Database Only
- Files Only
Backup Storage Choice
You can choose one of the following locations for backup storage:
- Local Web Server (stored in your hosting account)
- Remote storage (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
Once you have everything, simply click Backup Now. The backup will begin. Depending on the size of your website, this may take a few minutes to complete.
Other Backup Option (Schedule Automatic Backups)
You can perform a backup automation to keep your website fully protected.
- Go to WPvivid → Schedule.
- Turn on the automated setting Schedule Backups.
- Set your Backup Frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly) and choose your backup type (full, database only, or files only).
- Press Save Changes to confirm.
If your website has frequent (daily) changes, you should automate your backups to run once or twice a day.
Step 3: Restore a Backup
To restore your website from a previous backup, navigate to WPvivid
- Click on the Backup & Restore.
- Locate the backup file you want to restore (accessible under “Backups”).
- Select Restore next to the appropriate file.
- You will be asked to confirm your decision.
The plugin takes care of the restore process automatically. Your current files and your database will be replaced with the ones from the backup.
Step 4: Download or Transfer Backups
You are welcome to download your backup files for added security.
Under WPvivid → Backup & Restore, select Download next to the desired backup file, and transfer the file to your local computer or external drive for safekeeping. It’s best to have at least two copies of your most recent backup, one locally and the other in a remote location (like Google Drive).
