Login to your <strong>DirectAdmin<\/strong> account.<\/p>\n<p>2. Go to <strong>E-mail Manager<\/strong> and click on <strong>Spamassassin Setup<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11922\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/spamassassin-setup-min-1024x158.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"158\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. If the SpamAssassin isn\u2019t setup, you will see a message as <strong>\u201cSpamAssassin is not currently enabled\u201d<\/strong>. To enable it, click on the <strong>Enable SpamAssassin<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11923\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/enable-spamassassin-min-1024x152.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"152\" \/><\/p>\n<p>4. Once the SpamAssassin is enabled you get a message as <strong>\u201cSettings Saved\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11924\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/settings-saved-min-1024x440.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"440\" \/><\/p>\n<p>5. With SpamAssassin, you can select where spam is sent and how easily mail gets flagged as spam. Every incoming email is assigned a score from <strong>0-50<\/strong>, where <strong>0<\/strong> is not at all prone to be spam, and <strong>50<\/strong> is extremely likely to be spam. The <strong>SpamAssassin Setup<\/strong> page gets displayed where you will need to select the options for managing the spam as below:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11925\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/spamassasin-setup-fields-min-1024x612.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"612\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Where do you want the spam to go? &#8211;<\/strong> You can select the options from Inbox, a catch-all spam folder, the spam folder, or delete. It will manage the spam email as per the selected option.<\/li>\n<li><strong>What score threshold do you wish to use? &#8211;<\/strong> You can set a score between 0 and 10. If you select a <strong>Lower Threshold (5.0)<\/strong> it will block more spam mails, but can potentially tag legitimate mails as spam. If you select a <strong>High Threshold (10.0)<\/strong>, it will block more spam mails but won\u2019t tag legitimate mails as spam.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Would you like to delete high scoring spam? &#8211;<\/strong> With this option, you can automatically delete mail if SpamAssassin gives it a high score. You can enter the value you want in the <strong>\u201cYes, block all spam scoring higher than\u201d<\/strong>field.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Do you wish to rewrite the subject of a spam e-mail? &#8211; <\/strong>This option helps in identifying spam emails and avoids opening any mail that is flagged as spam.<\/li>\n<li><strong>How should the spam be delivered? &#8211; <\/strong>From this, it is best to select the<strong> Use attachments<\/strong> or <strong>Use text-only<\/strong> <strong>attachments<\/strong> option for security against unsafe scripts.<\/li>\n<li><strong>E-mail Blocklist &#8211; <\/strong>In this field, you can add the email addresses from which you want to block receiving emails by clicking on the <strong>Add<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li><strong>E-mail Allow &#8211;<\/strong> In this field, you can add the email addresses from which you want to allow receiving emails by clicking on the <strong>Add<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>6. Next click on the <strong>Enable SpamAssassin <\/strong>button to save changes.
