You can manage the different types of records within the DNS Zone. You can modify any sort of MX records or also, add that new subdomain to point towards sub-site that isn\u2019t hosted on the server without disturbing the rest of your website.<\/p>\n<p>In this guide, you will learn to access this area of DirectAdmin and make adjustments and add new records as necessary.<\/p>\n<h3>Steps to Create a New Record<\/h3>\n<p>1. Login to your <strong>DirectAdmin<\/strong> account.<\/p>\n<p>2. Go to <strong>Account Manager<\/strong> and click on<strong> DNS Management<\/strong>. Here you will see all the records for you domain.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11543\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/dns-management-min-1024x138.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"138\" \/><\/p>\n<p>3. From the drop-down for <strong>Record Type<\/strong>, you can select the type of record you want to add from the below records:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11546\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/add-record-types-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"725\" height=\"383\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>A Record<\/strong> \u2013 It is used to point an IP to a particular location<\/li>\n<li><strong>NS Record<\/strong> \u2013 It is used to point a domain to find its DNS information.<\/li>\n<li><strong>MX Record<\/strong> \u2013 It is used to point a domain on which you want to deliver incoming mail.<\/li>\n<li><strong>CNAME Record<\/strong> \u2013 It is used to point a domain to another domain.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>6. Here we will add the<strong> A Record<\/strong> for our domain.<\/p>\n<p>7. Then type the name for the record in the <strong>Name<\/strong> field. Immediately, the result will be displayed as below:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11547\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/name-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"721\" height=\"131\" \/><\/p>\n<p>8. Login to your <strong>DirectAdmin<\/strong> account.<\/p>\n<p>2. Go to <strong>Account Manager<\/strong> and click on <strong>DNS Management<\/strong>. The <strong>Edit Record<\/strong> pop-up will get displayed. Here you can edit the record as per your preference.
