Elgg can be easily downloaded through Softaculous.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Here are the steps for downloading Elgg through Softaculous:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Login to your cPanel account.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the Softaculous Apps Installer section.<\/li>\n<li>Click on any of the options present under \u2018Categories\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>The Softaculous installer page will be displayed.<\/li>\n<li>In the search box, enter \u2018Elgg\u2019 and press Enter.<\/li>\n<li>Click on \u2018Install\u2019 and the installation page will be displayed.<\/li>\n<li>Another list box will be displayed that says \u2013 \u2018Choose the version you want to install\u2019, here you need to install the version that you wish to install.<\/li>\n<li>In the list box \u2013 \u2018Choose Protocol\u2019, select the protocol.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note : If you have an SSL certificate installed on your website, you must select \u2018https:\/\/\u2019 or \u2018https:\/\/www\u2019. If you don\u2019t have an SSL certificate installed on your website, you must select \u2018http:\/\/\u2019 or \u2018http:\/\/www\u2019.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In the list box \u2013 \u2018Choose Domain\u2019, select the domain that you want to install Elgg for or accept the default value.<\/li>\n<li>In the text box \u2013 \u2018In Directory\u2019, enter the directory where you want to install the Elgg application, or accept the default value.<\/li>\n<li>Note : If you wish your domain name to directly go to the application, leave the \u2018In Directory\u2019 text box blank.<\/li>\n<li>In the \u2018Data Directory\u2019 text box, enter the name of the directory where you want to save the application data or accept the default value.<\/li>\n<li>In the \u2018Site Name\u2019 text box, enter the website name. The website name is shown in the title bar of the user\u2019s browser by default when they access your website.<\/li>\n<li>In the \u2018Site Description\u2019 text box, enter your website description.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the email address of the website in the \u2018Site Email\u2019 text box.<\/li>\n<li>Enter the admin username and password in the \u2018Admin Username\u2019 and \u2018Admin Password\u2019 text boxes respectively and enter other details like \u2018Real Name\u2019 and \u2018Admin Email\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>You can click on the \u2018+\u2019 icon to adjust the Advanced options. You can configure them as per our preference.<\/li>\n<li>In order to receive website configuration information after the installation process is complete, enter an email address in the \u2018Email Installation Details to\u2019 text box.<\/li>\n<li>Review all the installation settings that you have configured and click on \u2018Install\u2019.
