This article will guide you on how to change the Database engine of a MySQL database table.<\/p>\n

The database engine is a component of the Database Management System (DBMS). It can create, read, update and delete data from a database.<\/p>\n

Perform the following steps to change the database engine :<\/p>\n

Method 1 :<\/strong><\/p>\n

1) Log in to the cPanel<\/strong> account.<\/p>\n

2) Open phpMyAdmin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3) From the left-hand column, select the database table whose search engine you want to change.<\/p>\n

4) Now, click on the Operations<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n

\"sql<\/a><\/p>\n

5) Under Table options<\/strong>, there is a drop-down of the Storage Engine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\"database<\/a><\/p>\n

6) Select the Storage Engine<\/strong> as per your choice.<\/p>\n

7) After everything is done, click on Go<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Method 2 :<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the second method, you simply need to run the following SQL query on the SQL tab after selecting the desired database from phpMyAdmin.<\/p>\n

ALTER TABLE `table_name` ENGINE = MyISAM<\/strong><\/div>\n

Once this query gets executed, the database engine of the selected database will get changed to MyISAM.<\/p>\n

It’s done.<\/p>\n

This way you can successfully change the storage engine for the table.<\/p>\n
