The article describes how you can configure and download your website’s raw access log files in cPanel.<\/p>\n

What are Raw Access Logs?<\/h3>\n

cPanel’s raw access log functionality allows you to configure and download your website’s raw log files for your own analysis.
\nInformation about all visitors to your website and FTP site is incorporated in the Raw access logs. By configuring cPanel, you can archive this information every month in a compressed file in your home directory. You also get the option to configure cPanel to delete the previous month’s archived log files. Once you have downloaded and decompressed the archived log file to your computer, you will be able to view it in any text editor.<\/p>\n

Note:<\/strong> Archived access logs are stored in the gzip file format and these files have a .gz file extension. If your computer works on Microsoft Windows, then you may need to download a program that can decompress .gz files.<\/p>\n

# Steps to configure Raw Access Logs<\/h3>\n

Perform the following steps to configure raw access logs in cPanel :<\/p>\n

1. Log in to cPanel.<\/p>\n

2. Perform one of the following :<\/p>\n

\u2022 In case you are using the Paper Lantern<\/strong> cPanel theme<\/strong>, then on the cPanel home screen go to the METRICS<\/strong> section and click Raw<\/strong> Access<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u2022 In case you are using the x3 cPanel theme<\/strong>, then on the cPanel home screen go to the Logs<\/strong> section and click on Raw Access Logs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. Also, if you want to archive logs at the end of each month, select the Archive logs in your home directory at the end of each month<\/strong> checkbox.<\/p>\n

4. Now, you can select the Remove the previous month’s archived logs from your home directory at the end of each month checkbox, to delete the archived logs for the previous month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5. Click on Save<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

# Steps to download Raw Access Logs<\/h3>\n

Perform the following steps to download the raw access logs from cPanel :<\/p>\n

1. Log in to cPanel.<\/p>\n

2. Perform one of the following :<\/p>\n

\u2022 In case you are using the Paper Lantern cPanel theme<\/strong>, then on the cPanel home screen go to the METRICS<\/strong> section and click on Raw Access<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
