The process for configuring your FTP client for displaying hidden files for each FTP client is significantly different.<\/p>\n

Below are the instructions for doing so by using several popular FTP clients.<\/p>\n

Important:<\/strong> Use SFTP to connect (instead of FTP) since a secure connection to your server is ensured with it.
\nIn case you are already connecting using SFTP, you might already see the hidden files. This completely depends on the client that you’re using.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Using FileZilla<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. In Filezilla, click on the Server<\/strong> tab in the menu bar.<\/li>\n
  2. Check the \u201cForce showing hidden files\u201d<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Using CuteFTP 9.0<\/h3>\n

    1. In the server side window, right-click and select the Filter<\/strong> option.<\/li>\n
    2. Select the Enable server side filtering (server applies filters)<\/strong> check box, under the Server side filtering<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. In the Remote filter field box, type \u2018-al\u2019<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    4. Click on the Apply<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Using FireFTP<\/h3>\n

      1. Under FireFTP, click on the Firefox<\/strong> button > Web Developer<\/strong> > http:\/\/fireftp.mozdev.org\/<\/strong><\/li>\n
      2. Now, you are in the FireFTP<\/strong> interface. Then click on the Tools<\/strong> menu > Options<\/strong>.\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
      3. Navigate to the \u201cGeneral\u201d<\/strong> section.<\/li>\n
      4. Go to “File View”<\/strong> and check the box for “Display number of bytesd for file sizes”<\/strong>.\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
      5. Then click on OK<\/strong> to confirm.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Using Fetch<\/h3>\n

          1. When you open Fetch, it will display the following connection settings screen. Check below the example of connecting with a user named ‘user’<\/strong> on the server charles-pickney:\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
          2. After logging in, you’ll see the content of your web server:\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
          3. Navigate to ‘Fetch > ‘Preferences’<\/strong> for enabling hidden files:\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
          4. Choose the ‘Miscellaneous’<\/strong> tab.\n
