If you ever find the need of configuring Windows Firewall settings to open or block the ports, here is the step by step process to open ports in Windows Firewall.<\/p>\n

Step#1<\/b><\/p>\n

On your Windows PC, click on Start menu and select \u2018Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.\u2019<\/p>\n

Step #2<\/b><\/p>\n

In the sidebar, click on \u2018Advanced Settings\u2019.<\/p>\n

Step#3<\/b><\/p>\n

In the left pane, select \u2018Inbound rules\u2019.<\/p>\n

Step#4<\/b><\/p>\n

Now, on your right-hand side window, under Actions click on <\/b>\u2018New Rule\u2019. A new wizard will open as \u2018New Inbound Rule’ wizard.<\/p>\n

Step#5<\/b><\/p>\n

It will ask \u2018What type of rule you want to create\u2019. Choose \u2018Port\u2019 and then click on \u2018Next\u2019 button.<\/p>\n

Step#6<\/b><\/p>\n

To create the rule, you need to select either TCP or UDP.<\/p>\n

Ensure that \u2018Specific local ports\u2019 option is chosen and then enter the port range. Enter the port numbers that you want to open. Multiple ports can also be opened by entering port numbers separated with commas. If you want to add a port range, that is also possible. Enter a dash between the start and end range. For example 0123-0456.<\/p>\n

Click on \u2018Next\u2019 once you are done.<\/p>\n

Step#7<\/b><\/p>\n

In the next window, choose \u2018Allow the connection\u2019 and click on \u2018Next\u2019 button.<\/p>\n

Choose your network type whichever is suitable and click \u2018Next’.<\/p>\n
