It is possible to backup (export) your emails in cPanel webmail by using Roundcube as well as Horde interfaces. You can also restore your emails with the built-in restore (import) option.<\/p>\n<p>You can access the cPanel webmail with one of the following links:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>http:\/\/yourdomain.com\/webmail<\/li>\n<li>https:\/\/serverXX.web-hosting.com\/webmail (replace serverXX with your actual cPanel account server name.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Roundcube<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. For backing up <strong>(exporting)<\/strong>\u00a0emails to your local computer, choose the required email(s) and click on\u00a0<strong>More <\/strong>icon in menu bar:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/roundcube_backup-min.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6032 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/roundcube_backup-min-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. Select\u00a0<strong>Download (.eml)<\/strong>\u00a0option from the dropdown list and mention the location to save the email(s) to:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cpbackupmail2-min.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6033 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cpbackupmail2-min-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #e0ffff;padding: 10px\"><strong>NOTE:<\/strong>\u00a0Most of the email services support .eml files, so it is possible to easily restore them later on different servers.<\/div>\n<p>But it\u2019s unfortunate that Roundcube does not provide proper functionality to download bulk emails at once. So, to back up the whole folder or account, we recommend using Horde instead.<\/p>\n<p>3. For importing the emails using Roundcube webmail, click on\u00a0<strong>Gear icon\u00a0<\/strong>&gt; choose<strong>\u00a0Import messages:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/imroundcube1-min.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6034 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/imroundcube1-min-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>4. Next select the backup file you want to import and click\u00a0Upload:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/imroundcube2-min.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6035 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/imroundcube2-min-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>5. Once completed, you will receive a notification that the messages have been successfully imported:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/imhorde3-min.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6036 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/imhorde3-min-150x57.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"57\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0Horde<\/h3>\n<p>1. The same process needs to be followed for backing up a single email in Horde as that of Roundcube. Select the emails that you want to back up and select Save option in the dropdown list. You will see that emails are also saved in.eml format in this case:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cpbackupmail3-min.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6037 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cpbackupmail3-min-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>2. For saving all emails in the folder (Inbox, Sent, etc.) right-click on this folder and select the Export option:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cpbackupmail4-min.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6038 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cpbackupmail4-min-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>3. You will be asked to choose the format of the backup file &#8211; &#8211; MBOX or zipped MBOX. In case you just want to store email, you can prefer selecting zipped option as it will be small in size:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cpbackupmail5-min.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6039 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/cpbackupmail5-min-150x115.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"115\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You can use this MBOX file to transfer emails to another cPanel account with Horde available (via Import option), imported to Thunderbird using\u00a0corresponding extension,\u00a0converted to .eml or other email formats via third party software.<\/p>\n<p>4. In order to import emails in Horde, right-click on the folder you wish to upload the emails to and select\u00a0<strong>Import<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/imhorde1-min.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-6040 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.milesweb.co.uk\/hosting-faqs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/imhorde1-min-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>5. Now, your emails will get imported to the email account.
