There can be three possibilities as below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"#1CRS\">You have a hosting plan with MilesWeb<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#2CRS\">You have your website hosted with some other provider and you are provided with the nameservers for your domain<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#3CRS\">You have been provided with a set of host records for connecting the domain to your hosting<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let\u2019s check the steps in each of the possibility to connect your domain with the hosting account.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"1CRS\">You have a reseller hosting plan with MilesWeb<\/h3>\n<p>For connecting your new domain to Pluto\/Mars\/Jupiter or Smart\/Plus\/Pro plan that you have purchased from us, you need to point the domain to MilesWeb Web Hosting DNS nameservers. You will receive the private or reseller nameservers that you need to use in the welcome email. You can do this easily via your MilesWeb account as below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sign into your\u00a0<strong>MilesWeb account<\/strong>(The Client Login option is available at the top right corner of the home page):<\/li>\n<li>Choose the\u00a0<strong>Domain List\u00a0<\/strong>from the left sidebar and click on the\u00a0<strong>Manage\u00a0<\/strong>button next to your domain in the list:<\/li>\n<li>Go to the\u00a0<strong>Nameservers\u00a0<\/strong>section and select\u00a0<strong>MilesWeb Web Hosting DNS\u00a0<\/strong>from the drop-down menu. Next, use the tick mark sign to save changes:<\/li>\n<li>After the nameservers are updated, it requires approximately 24 hours for the DNS changes to be accepted globally. But in rare cases, it might take up to 48 hours. So, you need to be patient.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"background-color: #e0ffff;padding: 10px\">\n<p><strong>Note 1:<\/strong> When switching between MilesWeb BasicDNS\/Web Hosting DNS \/ PremiumDNS nameservers, the DNS changes come into the effect within one hour (24+ hours in rare cases).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note 2:<\/strong>\u00a0 After you set the nameservers for your domain, you will need to add your domain as Addon to your cPanel, if it is the sub domain for your hosting plan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"2CRS\">You have your website hosted with some other provider and you are provided with the nameservers for your domain<\/h3>\n<p>For connecting your domain to a third-party hosting plan via nameservers that you have received from your hosting provider, you need to set them as <strong>Custom<\/strong> for your domain. It can be done as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sign in to your account, click on the Domains tab from menu, select <strong>My Domains<\/strong> from the drop-down list \u00a0\u00a0and click on the <strong>Manage Domain\u00a0<\/strong>button from the list. Then go to the <strong>Nameservers\u00a0<\/strong>section and select\u00a0<strong>Custom DNS<\/strong>\u00a0from the drop-down menu:<\/li>\n<li>After that enter your hosting nameservers one after the other in each line (in case you want to set more than 2 nameservers, click on the<strong> Add nameserver<\/strong>\u00a0button). Next, click <strong>Save Changes<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<li>It might take approximately 24-48 hours for your domain to circulate after the nameservers update to resolve properly all over the world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"background-color: #e0ffff;padding: 10px\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: You might receive the nameservers with IP addresses as some hosting providers provide them. Just enter the nameservers as that would be enough.<\/div>\n<h3 id=\"3CRS\">You have been provided with a set of host records for connecting the domain to your hosting<\/h3>\n<p>If you have your own hosting server and you know the IP address of it, it is possible to set up <strong>A records<\/strong> for your domain to connect it to the server. If you have purchased the plan from other hosting provider, you might get the <strong>IP address<\/strong> that should be used for your domain to connect with your hosting plan.\u00a0 You need to create <strong>A records<\/strong> in this case too.<\/p>\n<div style=\"background-color: #e0ffff;padding: 10px\">\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong> It can be done only if the domain is using our DNS nameservers. A records can be set up in the following way:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Log in to your account, select <strong>My Domains<\/strong> from the drop-down list \u00a0\u00a0and click on the <strong>Manage Domain\u00a0<\/strong>button from the list. Then go to the <strong>Advanced DNS\u00a0<\/strong>tab at the top of the page.<\/li>\n<li>Search for the\u00a0<strong>Host records<\/strong>\u00a0section and click on the\u00a0<strong>Add New Record<\/strong>\u00a0button (if this option isn\u2019t available, it indicates that your domain is not using our DNS):<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>A Record<\/strong>\u00a0for the\u00a0<strong>Type\u00a0<\/strong>and enter the\u00a0<strong>Host\u00a0<\/strong>you want to point to your server IP address:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>@ &#8211; <\/strong>This is used to mention the Host to point your root domain (<em>abc.tld<\/em>)<br \/>\n<strong>www \u2013 <\/strong>This\u00a0is used to set the record for the\u00a0<em>www.abc.tld<\/em>\u00a0subdomain<br \/>\n<strong>[customhostname]<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 you can use it to set up a subdomain and to point it to your hosting server (for example, Host blog will point\u00a0<em>blog.abc.tld<\/em>\u00a0to your hosting)<br \/>\n<strong>*<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; It needs to be entered as a Host to set up a wildcard subdomain (it means it will point all non-existent subdomains to your hosting).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Next, enter the\u00a0<strong>IP address<\/strong>\u00a0of your hosting server into the\u00a0<strong>Value\u00a0<\/strong>field:<\/li>\n<li>You can leave the\u00a0<strong>TTL\u00a0<\/strong>as\u00a0<strong>Automatic (30 min)<\/strong>\u00a0or select any custom value from the drop-down menu:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div style=\"background-color: #e0ffff;padding: 10px\"><strong>Note<\/strong>: TTL is the time during which the data of your host record remains after the record is updated or removed. If you don&#8217;t know what TTL should be used, simply leave it as\u00a0<strong>Automatic<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Once you insert all details, save them using the\u00a0<strong>Save changes<\/strong> icon:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Generally, it takes about 30 minutes for the newly created records to take effect.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to create additional records (like URL redirect or CNAME), if your hosting provider asks you. These records might be set in the similar way as A records. You simply need to choose the corresponding\u00a0<strong>Type\u00a0<\/strong>record from the drop-down menu and enter the <strong>Value\u00a0<\/strong>that you received from your hosting provider:<\/p>\n<p>After adding the records, you should check if there are any records for the same host name and remove them since they will conflict with your records. You may need to check the record types such as Unmasked\/Masked\/Permanent Redirect, A or CNAME records.<\/p>\n<p>The records for our\u00a0<strong>Parking page<\/strong>\u00a0will be set by default by a newly registered domain. These records are URL redirect for\u00a0<strong>@<\/strong>\u00a0host pointing to http:\/\/www.abc.tld\/ and\u00a0<strong>CNAME record<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>www\u00a0<\/strong>host pointing to parkingpage.milesweb.co.uk. These records need to be removed after setting up custom host records for your domain.<\/p>\n<p>Simply press the black\u00a0<strong>Trash bin<\/strong>\u00a0icon next to the corresponding record to remove the conflicting records:<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it!<\/p>\n<p>You can easily connect a domain name to your hosting or reseller account with these simple steps.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When a domain name is connected \/ linked to your reseller hosting account, it becomes easy to launch your website.
