This post depicts a step-by-step process for configuring email on Outlook 2013 for Windows. This process can also be implemented for the other versions of Outlook; however, there might be some differences in some steps and some screens.<\/p>\n

Adding A New Account<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Select the \u2018File\u2019 menu<\/li>\n
  2. Select \u2018Info\u2019<\/li>\n
  3. Click on \u2018Add Function\u2019 button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. Select \u2018Manually setup or additional server types\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      1. Click on Next<\/li>\n
      2. Select \u2018POP or IMAP\u2019<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

          Configuring Account Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n

          1. Enter your name as you want it to be displayed on your outbound emails<\/li>\n
          2. Enter your complete email address<\/li>\n
          3. Enter your complete email address as the User Name as well<\/li>\n
          4. Enter your email password<\/li>\n
          5. Your mail server is \u2013 mail.YourDomain.com (YourDomain.com is your domain name)<\/li>\n
          6. The outgoing mail server is the same as your incoming mail server<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            More Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n

            1. Click on the \u2018More Settings\u2019 button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

              1. Click on \u2018Outgoing Server\u2019 tab<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                1. Check the box that says \u2018My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication\u2019<\/li>\n
                2. Check \u2018use the same settings as my incoming mail server\u2019<\/li>\n
                3. Click on the \u2018Advanced\u2019 tab<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                  1. If you are using POP3 with SSL, check the checkbox and enter 995 as the port, otherwise leave the default port at 110<\/li>\n
                  2. If you are using POP3, you may define when messages are removed from the server<\/li>\n
                  3. If you are using IMAP with SSL, click the checkbox and enter 993 as the port, otherwise leave the default post at 143<\/li>\n
                  4. If you are using SMTP with SSL, click the checkbox and enter 465 as the port, otherwise change the non-default post to 25<\/li>\n
                  5. Now click on the \u2018OK\u2019 button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    Testing Settings<\/strong><\/p>\n

                    1. While you are on the email accounts screen, click on the \u2018Test Account Settings\u2019 button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                      1. This will check your settings and send a test email to yourself to confirm that everything is working fine. In case you receive any errors, please check your configuration<\/li>\n
                      2. Click on the \u2018Close\u2019 button present on the Test Account Settings window<\/li>\n
                      3. Click \u2018Next\u2019 on email accounts window<\/li>\n
                      4. Click on the \u2018Finish\u2019 button<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                        Outlook 2013 \/ 2010 is now perfectly configured for sending and receiving emails.<\/p>\n
