What is HTTP Authentication ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the context of an HTTP request, HTTP access authentication is a method for an HTTP user agent to provide a user name and password when making a request. It is a technique for enforcing access controls to web resources because it doesn’t require cookies, session identifier and login pages. No handshakes should be performed in predication. <\/p>\n

The use of HTTP Authentication<\/strong> with cPanel\/WHM is disabled, therefore the option was removed from the Tweak Settings<\/strong>. It was disabled in cPanel\/WHM 11.42 version.<\/p>\n

Even though it has been disabled from cPanel\/WHM, you can enable\/disable HTTP Authentication by modifying \/var\/cpanel\/cpanel.config<\/strong>. Here is the step by step process:<\/p>\n

1. Login to WHM.
\n2. You will get WHM dashboard
\n3. On the left side click on the server configuration option.
\n4. And click on Terminal
\n5. You will get command-line access window
\n6. Now, to modify enable\/disable HTTP authentication simply modify this file
\nvi \/var\/cpanel\/cpanel.config and press enter.
\n7. Add this line skiphttpauth=1
\n8. By default, it is disabled so the value set to 1. If you wish to enable HTTP Authentication then set it to 0.
\n9. Type : <strong>wq<\/strong> to save changes.
